Technical Architect - Business Intelligence - Mumbai

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform consulting services that follow proven Services Implementation Methodology (Analyse, Design, Build, Deploy, Operate). Maintain customer satisfaction and success through excellence in personal delivery of consulting services to customers and partners alike. · Perform best-in-class BI software installations conforming to company’s recommendations and proven practices. Ensure high-quality and complete technical delivery of consulting services. · Provide technical services for BI and related software products to support enterprise deployment including areas of architecture, security, performance and scalability and load testing. · Determining usage and hardware requirements and troubleshooting environmental issues. · Maintain and upskill knowledge of company’s BI products and related technologies by utilising internal and external courses, internal training days, kick-off meetings, field support, published resources (on-line and print), trakweb & self-study. · Working closely with Customer Support, Product Management and Development Teams to advise and develop best practices within the technology practice area. · Use of onsite education and/or workshops, one-to-one training/handover during onsite consults. · At all times following up on all open issues and questions, tracking outstanding issues to Customer Support following engagements. Periodically contacting the customer & communicating/escalating problems with to Managing Consultants, Services Managers & Account Managers. · Submitting weekly reports for engagements longer than a week or, while at customer site submit a status report containing work planned for visit, work accomplished, outstanding issues and suggested next steps for customer. · Timely and accurate submission of expense reports, timesheets etc · Billing activities to complete customer engagement, maximising billable activities and minimising non-billable activities in accordance with customer, company and personal needs. · Communicating client needs or problems to the Account Manager or Services Manager identifying how additional services can contribute to the customer’s solution. · Providing assistance, direction, and support for fellow employees as appropriate. · Travel will be required, predominantly within India, and occasionally overseas.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1. Education - Educated to degree level or equivalent preferred. - Proven minimum 4-5 years IT industry experience. - Completed training in Enterprise Planning and Business Intelligence software, particularly Server and Technical Administration courses. - Microsoft MCP/MCSE/MCDBA, UNIX and Linux Certifications highly regarded.
2. Technical Skills - High proficiency in installation, configuring, troubleshooting, testing BI and related software - Operating Systems including Windows, Unix, Linux and Networking Operating Systems - Knowledge of Financial Budgeting and Planning and Reporting Applications - Knowledge of Database Technologies including DB structures, Modelling & Design, Administration, Diagnostics/Troubleshooting/Tuning, ODBC/Connectivity, Metadata Management, Data Mart Planning & Development and Datamart & Enterprise data warehouse integration methods - Application Programming HTML, JavaScript, Java or Visual Basic, Cognos Script & SQL - Web Technology/Applications: Intranet concepts, Extranet concepts, XML/SOAP, J2EE Application Servers, Java Servlet Containers, Web Server Management, Web Development, Security Administration (LDAP) - System and Network Configuration and Tuning, TCP/IP, DNS, Proxy Servers, NETBUI, WINS, HTTP(S), FTP, Routers/Firewalls - High Availability Concepts and Disaster Recovery

Complete BI/DWH product knowledge is preferred.
